Surfsyde was born from my childhood trip to India at age 10, where I was captivated by the widespread use of flip-flops everyday.

However, my fascination turned into concern when I noticed many people suffering from painful blisters and ulcers caused by the straps. This issue struck me deeply, and I became determined to find a solution.

Interestingly, existing research and footwear design innovations focus on relieving pressure on the bottom of the feet. Very little has been done to improve the pressure exerted by straps on the tops of feet.
After numerous iterations, I had a eureka moment – the groundbreaking idea of incorporating a rolled inner seam for the strap [Patent Pending].

This feature significantly reduces pressure on the skin, providing unparalleled comfort and reducing the risk of blisters and skin abrasions.

With this patent-pending design, at the age of 12, I launched Surfsyde. Our aim is to offer a stylish and comfortable footwear option while promoting foot health - by mitigating strap-induced pressure.

Flip-flops are preferred the world over, and now they are designed better.
